A Message from the Principal
Dover High School is a community-oriented school dedicated to offering its students a variety of learning experiences that foster higher-level thinking skills, creativity, responsibility and tradition. These attributes prepare students for life-long learning, meaningful employment and an appreciation of the world in which they live.
Dover High School has been rated "Excellent," the State of Ohio's highest designation every year since 2002, the inception of the current designation system, and is a member of the College Board. In 2010, Dover High School was recognized by US News and World Report as "One of America's Best High Schools." Dover High School maintains school accreditation with AdvancEd, an international quality assurance organization dedicated to helping schools continuously improve.
Academic opportunity awaits each student through a challenging curriculum of college preparatory and Advanced Placement courses, as well as a diverse range of elective courses and intervention services. Dover High School has a dedicated staff that is committed to continuous school improvement, including a vision of increased student academic achievement through proven successful instructional strategies.
Dover High School continues to provide exceptional opportunities for students through athletics, theater, music and the fine arts – recognizing that all of these activities play an integral role in educating the whole student.
