Dover Schools Responsible Restart 2020 Information

Dover City Schools Responsible Restart Plan

Please click below for the detailed Responsible Restart documents approved at the Board of Education Meeting on Monday, August 10.
Dover Schools has worked with the Tuscarawas County Health Dept and the Ohio Dept of Health for the safety of our students and staff. This plan reflects the most up-to-date health and safety information and protocols available at this time.
HB 164 (June 2020) indicates that each qualifying public school governing body must adopt a plan to provide instruction using a remote learning model for the 2020-2021 school year.

This plan was discussed at the Board of Education Meeting on Monday, July 13, and approved at the Board Meeting on  Wednesday, July 21. Our Responsible Restart document will provide the answers to some of the questions we've received from families, but there are certainly details to be finalized in the coming days and weeks.  Those will all be communicated on our website, as well as via parent email and social media.

We should all expect conditions to fluctuate throughout the school year. We encourage families choosing the Face-to-Face Option to plan for all scenarios (A1-A3). Based on the recommendation of the Tuscarawas County Health Department, as of the release of the plan, we will start the year in A2: Modified Face-to-Face LearningOur goal remains to return to A1: 100% Face-to-Face with Health Protocols as soon as is safely possible.

We will be offering several virtual information sessions over the next two weeks about our district’s Responsible Restart Plan. We encourage you to join us to learn more about the different learning models that we may need to implement over the course of the school year and the increased health and safety protocols we will be implementing in our schools.

Dover Schools PreSchool: We ARE offering preschool to enrolled students in 2020-21. The days in session remain the same: Tuesday-Friday. However, the AM session will run from 8:45-11:15, and the PM session will run from 12:30-3:00. This will allow for deeper cleaning between sessions and minimize the number of students entering and dismissing at the same time. South School personnel will be contacting families with children enrolled in the program with additional details and information soon.  Please contact South School at 330-364-7111 with questions.
