CHALLENGING LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
A nationally-credentialed Project Lead the Way © Program for students in grades K-12; course offerings and specialized delivery for gifted students is available in grades 2-12; and a robust Advanced Placement (AP) © program, capped off with an AP Capstone © program is available for high school students.
FOCUSED ON THE FUTURE
The district is currently building a modern, state-of-the-art grade 9-12 high school in the downtown Dover area. The building features a 1200 seat auditorium, 1800 seat competition gymnasium, and a full collection of student-centered learning areas, laboratories, and classrooms.
WHOLE CHILD
The district provides a full range of music offerings to students by offering band, choir, and orchestra programs to students in grades 5-12 and general music to all students in grades PK-5. At the high school and middle school level, 38% of students are involved in a musical performance group. At the high school level, 35% of students are involved in interscholastic athletics, and 45% are involved in one of our numerous clubs and activities. Since joining the East Central Ohio League in 1992, DHS has earned the ECOL athletic “All-Sports Champion” trophy 20 of those 24 years.
