Dover Avenue Elementary School provides a variety of learning opportunities for our students.
A dedicated faculty and staff extend of themselves to support the curriculum and provide
activities and programs during, before and after school as well. This wide variety of “extra”
learning opportunities – is instrumental in the academic growth demonstrated by our students
every year. Our students participate in: Book Bunch, Student Council, Intervention Sessions,
Science Club, Band, Orchestra, Choir, ORFF Ensemble, etc.
Our Parent Teacher Group (PTG) sponsors many activities and programs for our students and
we are fortunate to reap the benefits of their time, talents and involvement in our school. The
efforts of our PTG parents have provided donations of supplies, instructional equipment,
building improvements and PTG sponsored events for our students throughout the school year.
We believe involvement within our community is an important trait to develop. Our students,
staff and parents have demonstrated their support of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program,
Relay For Life, Salvation Army Food Drive, Recycling, and projects reaching out to area Nursing
Homes. Thus, our students learn the value of “doing for others.”
We look ahead this school year, to welcoming ALL fourth and fifth graders in our district to
Dover Avenue Elementary. The opportunities specific to this grade level student, the blending
of friendships, and the concept that “we are ALL ….DOVER” will be nurtured and enhanced!
We will continue to take pride in our motto:
“Dover Avenue……A GREAT PLACE TO LEARN!”
