VALUE

CHALLENGING LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
Dover City Schools is dedicated to providing a comprehensive academic pathway that inspires and challenges every student to reach their highest potential. From kindergarten through graduation, our students engage with a nationally recognized Project Lead the Way (PLTW) STEM curriculum that fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills. To further support high-achieving learners, we provide specialized gifted education programming for students in grades 2–12. High school students are also empowered to pursue college-level rigor through a robust selection of Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
FOCUSED ON THE FUTURE
While we celebrate the award-winning Dover High School opened in 2020, work is underway to address the needs of our elementary and middle school buildings. As part of our community-informed strategic plan, we’re exploring options to ensure all Dover students have safe, modern learning spaces where they can thrive. Beginning in 2025, a cross-section of students, teachers, administrators, parents, and community members undertook a process to re-imagine the future of learning in Dover City Schools.
WHOLE CHILD
At Dover City Schools, we are deeply committed to the development of the whole child, offering a diverse array of arts, athletics, and extracurricular pathways. Our comprehensive music curriculum begins in pre-kindergarten and extends through 12th grade, providing secondary students with vibrant performance opportunities in band, choir, and orchestra. In addition to the arts, our middle and high school students actively participate in championship-caliber athletic programs within the Ohio Cardinal Conference. We encourage all students to find their passion and build leadership skills through a wide variety of student clubs and extracurricular activities designed to foster community and personal growth.
